Job Description & Requirements

Executive Director. The Adirondack Trail Improvement Society (ATIS) seeks a new Executive Director to start in 2025. A youth-focused, environmentally conscious, and community-oriented leader, the Executive Director will provide strategic leadership and manage day-to-day operations as this more than 125 year’old organization grows and remains responsible to the evolving needs of today’s youth, trails, and New York’s Adirondack Park.

ATIS is a non-profit that provides outdoor educational and recreational programs for youth and adults, as well as maintaining and enhancing hiking trails in the vicinity of Keene Valley, NY, in partnership with the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, the Adirondack Mountain Reserve/Ausable Club, and others.

The mission of ATIS is to inspire responsible stewardship and facilitate healthy enjoyment of wild lands, and to support individuals to develop the skills and qualities necessary to thrive in the natural world and beyond.
