Job Description & Requirements
Park City Bike and Demo is looking for a full-time Lead Mechanic to join our bike technician team. Reporting to our General Manager, the Lead Mechanic’s primary responsibility will be servicing and maintaining both our rental fleet and customer bicycles. The shop is full service and offers high end bicycles and accessories from brands like Rocky Mountain, Ibis, Devinci, POC and Ion. We’re located in the heart of Park City and have amazing access to +400 miles of amazing single track right from our front door. Our goal is to be the local communities favorite full-service bike shop and we’re looking for passionate individuals to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Complete shop service needs for both customers and rental fleet
80% of time spent in service bay working on service
Work with General Manager to set service department goals and plans to accomplish said goals
Help General Manager in evaluating service department needs
Work with General Manager to train new mechanics
Key Holder that will follow SOPs to occasionally open and close the store
Act on behalf of the shop to resolve any issues that may arise when Manager is unavailable
Act as a role model for all shop staff and understand that shop standards will start with management and leads
Relay any ordering needs (tools, parts, etc.) to management
Intake service bikes with a comprehensive check ensuring customer leaves with full assessment
Willingness to stay after hours for late rental returns as necessary, sharing responsibility with General Manager and Rental Manager
Qualifications:
2+ years mechanic experience
Must show strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, suspension, and any other relevant aspects of a bike
Commitment to quality customer service
Willingness to be a part of the shop team
Excel in a leadership role that others can turn to for assistance and guidance
Effective communication skills
Completion of Shimano S-Tec Certification trainings within 3 months of hire date
